Zone of Silence

Located in the Chihuahuan desert in Mexico lies an area called the Mapimí zone of silence. It has been given this name due to its unique and unusual properties and the fact that strange electromagnetic forces are said to surround the area resulting in animal and plant mutations. Microwave, satellite, short wave, radio or television signals are virtually non-existent in this area. Also, magnetic compasses spin out of control on occasion.

It was first discovered in the 1930’s by pilot Francisco Sarabia when the instruments on his plane stopped working while flying overhead.

The area has allegedly been a hotbed of meteoritic activity throughout history. The Allende meteorite crashed somewhere around the zone in 1969 after narrowly missing a Russian satellite and orbiting the Earth once.

An American Athena test missile strayed 400 miles south off course during a 1970 military exercise and mysteriously ended up being redirected to the zone of silence.

Some say the magnetic force may create a vortex that draws mass from the upper atmosphere. The center of this vortex is called the "Vertice de Trino", an area rich in magnetite where dust can be picked up with a magnet.

The Mexican government built a research complex in the zone called the biosphere where they have been studying the area.

The zone has been compared to the Bermuda triangle and regional inhabitants claim that unidentified objects often fall from the sky. There is also a claim that NASA had interest in setting up a scientific facility to study the zone.

All speculative.

Emergency evacuation plan

One needs to ask the question “If governments were aware of a possible worldwide catastrophe, would they tell the public?” My guess is probably not since absolute chaos would ensue, so in order to avoid that scenario would wait until the very last moment to inform the public.

Well apparently, many parts of the North American East Coast have recently been introduced to new roadside emergency evacuation signs as far north as Newfoundland, Canada.

Not long after reading this on a websites’ thread, numerous other people started to respond saying the same was happening in their areas, though some claimed the signs were erected five to ten years ago. And quite a few of them were from areas located in the southern states where Hurricanes and Tornadoes are a frequent occurrence. NASA has also recently implemented a Family/Personal Preparedness Plan.

While driving home one evening recently, I noticed a new and large sign by the road with the words ‘Emergency Detour Route (EDR)’ written on it, and soon thereafter started seeing them all over the city. The city website claims that these signs are used to guide motorists along the designated route and back onto the highway. I must point out the fact that this part of the world is very safe. We hardly ever get severe weather or earthquakes, etc.

So what does it all mean? 

I am certainly not saying the world is going to end tomorrow, but curiosity has gotten the best of me and would love to hear from people from different parts of the world to see if similar signs were posted in their area as well.

Martian anomalies

Ever since people started sending spacecrafts to explore the surface of Mars back in 1976, strange and unusual shapes and forms have been witnessed. Here is a collection of photos and brief descriptions that I found floating around the internet. I should mention the fact that the sheer quantity of claims from various people over the last 35 years would require an immense amount of time to research, so I have posted just a few for now.

1976- A very convincing photo of what appeared to be a humanoid face was taken in the Cydonia region by Viking 1. Further pictures of better resolution taken in 2001 revealed what looked more like a simple two kilometre wide mound of dirt.

1976- Also discovered near the “Face on Mars” were mounds with similar shapes to pyramids here on Earth. Some people also believe that there might be the remnants of an ancient city nearby based on the old Viking 1 photos.

1999- Adam Marturana found photos of what appeared to be an Osiris-Statue and Step-Pyramid

   Holger Isenber further reasearched Adam Marturanas work and found Candor city tucked between the Ophir and Candor Chasma regions. It is said to contain numerous buildings.

2004-Bigfoot on Mars? That would explain why we have never caught a live one here on Earth. They fly in for brief visits then return home to Mars. YES, OF COURSE I AM JOKING!!

Our Sun is changing ?

There have been so many stories circulating around the internet regarding our sun in the past few years. Some border on the bizarre, such as ‘The Sun is mutating matter’, or the ridiculously incongruous, such as ‘fleet of alien ships gathering around near the sun’. There seems to be a conspiracy for every taste out there.

I had decided a while ago to stay clear of this theme due to its association to 2012 doomsday scenarios but this one story peaked my interest because it is an official story just discovered by credible scientists.

Anyone interested in this topic probably knows about the new discovery announced on June 14th in a meeting of the Solar Physics Division of The American Astronomical Society regarding our star.

Our sun goes through 11 year cycles called Solar Minimum and Solar Maximum. This solar cycle was discovered in 1843 by a German astronomer. We should be seeing the beginning of the 'so called' Solar Maximum 24 which should result in an increase of sun spots and solar storms, but the problem is, the regular cycle is changing and the sun is now quieting down and its magnetic field appears to be weakening. This Solar hibernation could last decades and we might not even see a Solar Maximum 25.

Though this phenomenon has never been studied by modern science, 3 past events called Spörer Minimum in 1460, Maunder Minimum in 1645, and the Dalton Minimum in 1790 have been recorded in recent history, with quiet solar periods ranging from 30 to 90 years. All three events recorded lower than normal temperatures, possibly due to an increase in volcanic activity. The Maunder Minimum also coincided with what was referred to as the ‘Little Ice Age’ in Europe, though a connection to low sun spot activity has not been proven.

 

‘Big Brother’ alive and well in Canada?

I have lived in Canada my entire life and recently noticed a change that somewhat bothers me. Census was introduced back in 1666 where it counted the colony's 3,215 inhabitants and recorded their age, sex, marital status and occupation. Numerous other questions were added later on regarding livestock, crops, buildings, churches, grist mills and firearms.

In 2001, The Canadian Government was sending out questionnaires to around 11.8 million households and was completed by 80% of them. I was always part of the other 20% who did not bother filling up the forms, mostly due to lack of interest.

Fast forward to 2011, the year I agreed to participate in the survey for the very first time. Not that my interest, or lack thereof has changed in any ways, but simply because if I do NOT participate, I am officially breaking the law. I am not entirely certain that this is a new law because I could not find any online information about it, but it would appear that tossing the form into the recycling box is no longer an option.

Shortly after not responding to the original form sent in the mail, I received a reminder letter with the words ‘Complete it today—It’s the law’ written on the front of the envelope. Becoming a bit concerned, I held on to the form but just tossed it aside. Not too long afterwards, I received a second notice, not unlike the ones you might get in the mail if you do not pay a utility bill, and once again tossed it aside due to the fact that I am moving soon and would only be giving them wrong information about this specific address.

Well just a few days ago, last  Sunday morning to be exact, a government official knocked on my door and when I answered, he immediately stared me down and said “You have not yet filled up your Census Form sir and must do so.”!

Not sure how the Government can benefit from knowing whether I am single or married or divorced, now they know.

The Mysterious Phaistos Disc

While walking through the streets and shops of Plaka in Athens Greece back in February 2011, after unexpectedly landing there due to the fact I had be evacuated out of Egypt, I came across an interesting find in a gift shop. A small, round terra cotta disc with strange and unusual pictographs caught my attention, so of course I purchased the item.  

The nearly 4,000 year old original tablet was discovered by Italian archaeologist Luigi Pernier back in 1908 while excavating the Minoan Palace on the South Coast of the Mediterranean Island of Crete. It is said to have originated from some other unknown location. It has been deemed authentic by most archaeologists, though a few have considered it to be an unlikely hoax.

This ancient tablet has intrigued linguistics over the past century and many have tried to decipher the spiral code containing 45 symbols in a text of 241 tokens. Many proposals have been suggested including: a prayer, a board game, a calendar, a token, a farmer’s almanac, or the story of the journey of humanity; and that its origin is possibly alien or Atlantean. The symbols do not resemble any other ancient languages from that time period or region and there are not enough contexts available for a proper and meaningful analysis.

More recent claims to deciphering the text include a book by Efi Poligiannaki, an article by the Massey twins who believe the text might be a magical text, possibly a curse, and other claims by  Andis Kaulins and Dr. Steven Fischer.

This one of a kind object is currently on display at the Heraklion archaeological museum in Greece.

Interstellar Energy Cloud

It is quite obvious that severe weather has been on the increase in the past few years. Though I would likely point the blame to Global Warming, I have read numerous other theories regarding this worsening problem.

I found this one particular story interesting.

It was reported that NASA and Heliophysics guest investigator Merav Opher made a discovery in December 2009 involving our solar system. It would appear that we are entering a massive solar energy cloud. This energy cloud contains hydrogen and helium atoms and temperatures of 6000ºC, and is held together by a strong magnetic outer ring.

Both Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 played significant parts in understanding this mysterious area of space while travelling through the outer reaches of our solar system. Astrophysicists believe that we are immune to this menacing cloud thanks to the heliosphere, a ten billion kilometre wide bubble created by our sun’s magnetic field.

Russian astrophysicist Dr. Alexey N. Dmitriev claims that the entire solar system is undergoing a form of global warming that is starting to affect not only the earth and moon, but also Mars, other planets and our sun as well. He predicts larger solar storms, earthquakes and global catastrophe as a result. He also mentions a peak in activity around the end of 2012, a big minus when it comes to his credentials in my book, assuming he even exists in the first place.

The new age concept of a photon belt has also been mentioned on some websites. A band of intense photon light supposedly transforming humanity to a higher dimension, not unlike Dr. Tolian Soran’s quest in the movie Star Trek: Generations; a concept people should not take too seriously in my opinion.

The Dogon Tribe and the Nommos

There lives an ancient tribe near Timbuktu, Mali in West Africa believed to be of Egyptian decent whose traditions speak of a star unseen to the human eye according to a discovery made by French anthropologists Marcel Griaule and Germain Dieterlen in the 1930’s.  This star was not photographed till the 1970’s.

Dogon priests also spoke of a race of people called Nommos who visited Earth thousands of years ago. According to Dogon lore, the Nommos were amphibious looking beings who travelled from a planet from a third undiscovered star in the Sirius Star System called Emme Ya.

They apparently shared astronomical knowledge about their world as well as our own solar system. The fact that the Dogon have ancient artifacts used in ceremonies dating back nearly a thousand years makes it unlikely that the information was more recently leaked to them from the modern world.
